Exciting Week!

So many exciting things are happening this week with the baby. . . First of all, the baby is going to have a new UNCLE! Kayt & Phillip were engaged on Easter morning in Egypt so along with that Phillip will be the lucky recipient of a niece/nephew. We are all so thrilled to have Phillip join the family and the baby is kicking me with joy!

Also, the baby is enjoying it's first vacation to La Quinta (in Palm Springs). Michael and I are taking a "babymoon" (our last vacation alone before the baby arrives) and we are really enjoying the time together relaxing.

Other exciting news with the baby this week:
This week, our baby weighs almost 2 pounds (like a head of cauliflower) and is about 14 1/2 inches long with it's legs extended. The baby is sleeping and waking at regular intervals, opening and closing it's eyes, and perhaps even sucking it's fingers. With more brain tissue developing, our baby's brain is very active now. While it's lungs are still immature, they would be capable of functioning — with a lot of medical help — if he/she were to be born now. Chalk up any tiny rhythmic movements I am feeling as a case of baby hiccups (yes, they do happen in-utero), which may be common from now on. Each episode usually lasts only a few moments, and they don't bother the baby, so if I experience them I will just relax and enjoy the tickle.

The nursery looks great. I'm so glad you all are doing well. Brad and I are thinking about coming to the Ville over Memorial Day. When is Baby McMillan's arrival date again?
