Kissing Cousins

We visited Michael's family last weekend for the Cal vs. USC football game. Gavin had such a good time with his cousins! As you can tell by the picture, Gavin couldn't resist giving Rachel lots of kisses.

48 Words

14 months is such a fun stage! We see growth and development every day. Lately every day Gavin has a new word he surprises us with. . . yesterday it was "airplane" while we were at the park. So, I sat down and wrote out all the words he knows and it totals 48! The proud parents that we are we know we have a genius on our hands!

We Remember Aunt Jean

This week we remember Aunt Jean. Unfortunately she passed away a couple of weeks ago and it will forever leave a void in our hearts. She was our "California Grandma" and we were so thankful to have her as a part of our life. We look forward to celebrating the joy of Aunt Jean's life this weekend with family and friends. She will be dearly missed!

Please keep Aunt Jean and her family in your thoughts and prayers.

Gavin was fired up for the Cal Berkeley vs. UC Davis game. Too bad the Aggies didn't show up to play! Cal played an amazing game but Gavin still looked cute in his Aggies gear.

Hello Family and Friends! We can't believe that it is almost September. What an amazing summer this has been. We just returned from a vacation with Michael's family at their time share in Cabo, Mexico. It was an amazing 2 weeks- very relaxing and nice to spend the time with the McMillan Family. Gavin also took his first steps while we were there. One day before Stacy's birthday! Such an amazing next stage. . . he was into everything before, now it is tenfold!

Gavin is 1!!

Gavin turned 1 on July 3! It sounds cliche but wow, it went by extremely fast. Gavin enjoyed his cake that his dad made (yes, his dad made it because he wanted him to have his own cake). So, as you can tell by the pics below, we had a "cake-off" (sort of like a "bake-off") and what a good time it was! You guess who's cake you like best. :) I made the cake for the party and Michael made Gavin his own. Such a fun family event!

Can't believe it is June!

Wow- we blinked and May was gone. Such an exciting month! Our travels took us from Heather (Michael's sister) & Alex's wedding in Indian Wells (Palm Springs, CA), to Kourtney (Stacy's college girlfriend) & Tony's wedding in Jamaica, to Heather (Stacy's college girlfriend) & Eric's wedding in Orange County. Such a joyful month for our family and loved ones! Needless to say, we didn't do so well keeping up the blog. Now we are back and looking forward to a fun-filled June getting ready for Gavin's first birthday.

Gavin took his first school photo about a month ago and we couldn't resist sharing it since it was so stinking cute! Enjoy. . .

Baseball Spring Training in Arizona

While Mommy was at her friend Kourtney's bachelorette party in Phoenix, Daddy & Gavin enjoyed visiting Titi Heather and going to some Giants Spring Training games. Not only was it Gavin's first time at a baseball game, he got to sit 2nd row behind the Giants dug out, he was given a game ball by a 12 year old who caught it, and Eli Whiteside found out it was his first game and gave him a ball signed by Willie Mays! What an amazing Giants experience. And, Gavin really enjoyed the time with his Titi!

Gavin's Visit to Mimi & Papa's House

Gavin was lucky enough to visit Mimi & Papa's (Michael's parents) this week while Stacy went to work in San Diego. He had a wonderful time visiting with Mimi & Papa and also with his cousins (Lauren & Rachel) and his Titi Megan & Uncle Jeff. He is always so excited to see the family! He is definitely going through withdrawls today as it is back to "business as usual" at home. Thank you Mimi & Papa for everything!

Gavin is 5 months younger than his cousin, Rachel, but as you can see that they are about the same size! They love interacting with each other.

Visit to Grandma's House (Alone!)

Michael and I enjoyed a very relaxing week at the Ritz-Carlton in the Grand Cayman with Stacy's work (E&J Gallo Winery). This meant that Gavin got to visit Grandma in Davis for a week long trip! He had such a great time with Grandma (and Basket, our family dog) he didn't want to come home. Grandma's house is definitely more fun (and spoiling!) than being home. Thank you Grandma for allowing us to take our first trip away!

Gavin is 7 Months Old

Gavin is 7 months old and he never stops smiling!!

A Week Full of Surprises!

This week had a lot of surprises in store for Gavin, little did he know what he was in for. . .

1. Gavin had a month long cough that turned in to a bacterial infection.
2. He was given amoxicillin to cure the infection which lead to his first allergic reaction! This unfortunately surfaced in an entire body rash.
3. As soon as the rash was going away a 3rd tooth popped through the top gum line. With a 4th very close behind.
4. Last but definitely not least, even though Gavin was being tested with all of these other annoyances, he found the strength to sit up on his own!!!!!

The below picture was captured on my cell phone the first time he sat and played by himself for about 5 minutes before toppling over. True to his form Gavin found the strength to make lemonade out of the lemons he was given this week. So exciting! Next stage. . . crawling. Ah!

Gavin's First NBA Game

Gavin got to experience his first NBA game at Arco Arena in Sacramento. The Sacramento Kings played the Denver Nuggets and Gavin loved all of the action! We think we have a future basketball player in the making. . .

Our Little Fish

Gavin had his first swimming lesson and he loved the water! Plus, mommy & daddy learned some new fun games to play with Gavin to teach him swimming.

Gavin is 6 Months Old

Gavin has officially out grown his "baby" car seat. We are in the market for a big boy car seat. According to his Doctor he is the length of an "11 1/2 month old". He is now 29 1/2 inches long and 17 lbs 4 oz. Our little man is sprouting like a weed!

Off to Day Care!

Gavin is a big boy! He is off to Day Care and as happy as can be to meet his new friends.

Merry Christmas 2009

We had a wonderful holiday! It was so wonderful to celebrate Gavin's first Christmas. He enjoyed all of the lights, spending time with family, and tearing off the wrapping paper!
