Christmas with the McMillan Family

We got to celebrate our last Christmas without the baby, with Michael's family in Southern California. There was a lot to celebrate since Megan (Michael's sister) is due the end of January and we are expecting our baby in July- the cousins will be only months apart in age. It was a wonderful week spending time with Megan, Jeff, Lauren, Bob, Laura, and Heather! Lauren (our 3 year old neice) prepped us for parenthood as she kept us busy at play most of the week. We did a lot of relaxing, catching up, laughing and game playing. We had a wonderful time just enjoying being with the family!

3rd Ultrasound Picture- 12 Weeks

The baby is now 2 1/2 inches long! During this first trimester screening test the baby was sleeping so the technician had me cough and you could see the startled baby jump and begin to move- it was absolutely AMAZING! We also got to hear the baby's hear beat for the first time which truly humbled us at the amazing gift God has given to us.

(If you look at the picture below you can see the baby's arm curved up to the right and the hand is next to the face- so adorable!)

Belly Bump!

Megan (Michael's sister) is due approx. Jan 26th so we had a fun time at Christmas sharing in the baby joy. Michael and I are excited to be an Aunt and Uncle to baby Stube #2 and Megan is excited to be a first time Aunt. Such an exciting end to 2008!

Megan's Baby Shower

Such an exciting time as we celebrated the (soon) arrival of Baby Stube #2! As you can tell, a lot of family and friends were extremely excited to join in the celebration- the Vilhauers even drove down from Northern California. Big sister-to-be, Lauren, was all smiles as she enjoyed the afternoon of celebration as well. Thanks to Heather and Laura for helping put on a beautiful shower- we were able to celebrate Megan and the arrival of Baby Stube on a beautiful winter day in Southern California. Congratulations Megan, Jeff and Lauren! We cannot wait to meet Baby Stube.

John's Birthday & Christmas Dinner

Happy Birthday to John (Stacy's Dad)!
We celebrated with him by going out to dinner and then returning home to open birthday, Christmas presents and share in the holiday together. He enjoyed the last birthday before he is a Grandpa. . . We enjoyed the company with both he and Kayt (Stacy's sister). (Since Kayt is a world traveler we don't know if we will get the great opportunity to all be together this time next year so we treasured the time!)

2nd Ultrasound Picture- 9 weeks

The lenghth of the baby is 22.9 mm. The doctore said that it looked like the baby was "doing a jig" because it was moving it's hands and feet, and wouldn't stay still. (Michael's genes are already coming through at this early stage!) Since we have now seen both the heart beat and fetal movement the doctor said that we are in an extremly good place with the pregnancy.

Now the fun begins for my body. . . my pants are starting to get a tight. Thank goodness for the "Bella Band" that Carrie loaned me otherwise I would be out of luck until I went shopping!

Last Cal Game in 2008 with the McMillans

We had an amazing 2008 Cal Bears football season with Bob & Laura! We were lucky enough to spend time with them at almost every home game this season. What a great way to end the season with this win over Washington! Off to the Emerald Bowl. . . go BEARS!

Thanksgiving in Davis

We had our last Thanksgiving, without the baby, in Davis. We got to celebrate the many blessings we have all had in 2008 with Oam (PhD exchange student living with my mom), Basket (our family dog), Jan (Stacy's mom), and Kayt (Stacy's sister). We had a wonderful weekend of great food, good laughter, and fun memories!

1st Ultrasound Picture

At 7 weeks, this was so amazing because we got to see the heartbeat for the first time! We felt extreme joy and pleasure and won't forget the moment as we shared it together. The journey to start the McMillan Family has begun- we are so excited and cannot wait to share our love with our new baby!
